Power Corporation which stands for Pinoy Overseas Workers in Riyadh spun off from a group of 25 kindred souls from Saudi Telecom Company in Riyadh City, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
It was organized on September 25, 2004 when a few thought of the challenge of becoming entrepreneurs, not OFWs forever for successful reintegration in the mainstream of Philippine society. From a few numbers it grew to 25 who espouse their commitment to the organization. They have mobilize their savings envisioning for income-generating enterprises in the Philippines. Eventually, the plan is some of these original members would come home to manage the project which would start from a small to a bigger venture. At the moment the group is extending easy credit to its members and non-members. The concept of the program is to help form a savings group with the idea that for sometime it would be able to build up some savings and capitalization to start some investments back home. A vision created and shared by all members which endeavor to empower the OFW like them and provide incentives and support to encourage entrepreneurial behavior. In the process it would forge partnerships, cooperation and active participation between and among the members and their families. A well-defined and concrete program such as this may serve as the returning OFW’s fallback option in their decision to come home and settle for good in exchange for a secure future.
